YOUNG DUBLINERS

With All Due Respect: The Irish Sessions

2007-02-19

This is exactly what you’d expect of a Young Dubliners CD made up entirely of traditional Irish songs: upbeat, feisty and rockin’. These covers kind of strike the middle ground on the continuum between way-traditional and ultra-rockish. This version of “Rocky Road to Dublin” is a good example — it’s peppier than the Chieftains/Stones version, but not as hard-edged as Dropkick Murphys’ take on the classic. ::arthur longrapids::
