The Show

I am desperately trying to play the song you Shazam (we also show the 'now playing' songs on wyce.org so you don't have to worry about two apps). Sometimes I describe my music as hard listening music. And I don't mean that it's bad. But there's easy listening music (and I play some of that too don't worry), which is great in the background. And then there's the music that kinda demands you pay attention to it - hard listening. That's what I'm going for at least. And you might hate it and that's ok. Don't tell my boss, because the customers are always right, but this show is as much for me as it is for you. Most importantly, if you call in and tell me that your pet is at home listening to WYCE 88.1, I'll give them a shout-out on air and tell them you love them! My four-legged listeners are my favorite

About AlDon

Hi, I'm AlDon! I'm Live from The BirdHouse and this whole radio show is dedicated to my cat Chandler who is at home listening on his perfect Saturday afternoon. The rest of us? We're out in the world and we're listening to the radio. We've got people to see, places to be and lives to live and I'm going to play the music that will get us there. Also in my spare time (9-5 Monday through Friday) I run this reallly cool nonprofit, hyperlocal (I wish I could bold and italicize here) citizen journalism news site through the Grand Rapids Community Media Center. Community powered. And every dollar that is donated to The Rapidian helps us cover move events, talk to more people, visit more neighborhoods and host more newswriting and other citizen journalism workshops. I believe that Grand Rapids deserves a stronger, healthier news ecosystem. It's not a lack of talent. Grand Rapids has the talent. Now local newsrooms need the investment and the resources to hire that talent. Keep local news local. grcmc.org/donate
