FAREWELL MILWAUKEE

Can't Please You, Can't Please Me

2013-10-21

Traveling down the same musical path as Dawes, but maybe taking it to the seventies a la Jackson Brown, Farewell Milwaukee makes easy-listening country music.  Can't Please You, Can't Please Me is the third release from the Minnesota band. It has been expertly mixed/produced by Brad Bivens (Dawes, Kings of Leon, Nora Jones). The vocals are distinct, as are both the high end and low end sounds. It features contemplative vocals fronting guitar, subdued drums, keys and pedal steel.  Add sentimental lyrics and a slow tempo and you have a soulful country album.  Rebecca Ruth
