ANDERS OSBORNE

Three Free Amigos

2013-01-29

Anders Osborne has given his fans a 12th CD; this one, Three Free Amigos, is his first EP. The 'Amigos' refers to Anders' band (bass player, Carl Dufrene; drummer, Eric Bolivar; and Anders), and the time they spent logging hours in travel, and in enjoyment, performing on stage supporting his last two critically acclaimed releases American Patchwork and Black Eye Galaxy. Three Free Amigos is a laid back, stripped down release that takes you on a journey. Gets you relaxed and easy with Bluesy Jazz in the Title Track, and follows with a sassy little Reggae bit about how His Mama likes Marmalade. "Ba- boom, boom. Ba-boom, boom". That turns to the Jealous Love sung by the sad harmonica in the background of a short, acoustic strum. It's Gonna Be Okay is the blues that brings you out of that love and into the fifth track's Never Is a Real Long Time...to be without someone. The journey ends, or begins again, in We Move On with a little more instrumentation than the previous tracks. Delicately done to get you past the hard travels in love and life. Cher Darling
