The evolution of North Carolina’s Acoustic Syndicate continues. Now on their 5th release, Acoustic Syndicate forays further into jam-grass territory, opening paths between bluegrass and jazz, blues and rock.

The band is largely a family affair, having been formed in 1992 by guitarist Steve McMurray and his cousins, banjo-player Byron and percussionist Fitz McMurray. The band is joined on this release by their newest member, sax player Jeremy Saunders.

The new release, out now on Sugar Hill Records, is produced by Lloyd Maines, who’s helmed recent releases from Terri Hendrix, Eddie from Ohio and the Dixie Chicks.
