THE WRIGHTS

The Wrights

2008-03-15

Husband and wife duo Shannon and Adam Wright make nice harmonies together on this EP, aimed at Dwight Yoakam crowd, but trolling for a wider audience. The slower tunes lean heaviest on the twang and the steel guitar, if that's your cup of tea. The upbeat numbers open up the appeal, with some great lines and guitar hooks to go along with the blending of their voices. That's why I gravitated to those tunes, such as "Do You Still" (#2), "Home Sweet Highway" (#4) and "You're the Kind of Trouble" (#7). The "Trouble" song was covered on Solomon Burke's fine "Nashville" CD. 03/08 MJVD F-Classic Country
