Stanley Dural, Jr., better known to listening audiences as Buckwheat Zydeco, brings us Jackpot!, his first new studio album in 8 years and the latest on his independent Tomorrow Records label.Young Stanley Dural grew up in Lafayette, Louisiana absorbing the old-time Creole music played by his father and the boogie-woogie piano stylings of his idol Fats Domino. He began his professional music career as a keyboardist and soon turned to the accordion under his mentor Clifton Chenier.
In 1979, he formed his own combo and began performing as Buckwheat Zydeco. His stint as band-leader has included more than a dozen albums, two Grammy nominations and constant touring, making his band perhaps the most popular Zydeco act in the U.S.
