We’re not sure how Kermit Ruffins managed to escape the ‘YCE radar up ‘til now but this month Putumayo Records has made a point of bringing his music our way in a wonderful new collection.

Kermit is a fixture at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and has toured extensively as co-founder of the Rebirth Brass Band.

Putumayo presents Kermit Ruffins features eleven tracks from the New Orleans-based vocalist and trumpeter’s seven solo releases. This collection of classic Big Easy jazz should appeal to fans of Satchmo and second-line party music.
