Yelena Eckemoff Quintet

In The Shadow Of A Cloud

2017-08-24

I thought this album was a pretty standard Jazz album and not really much to write home about. It was nice that it is a double disk, so there is a lot of music to listen to. It is relaxing and enjoyable to listen to for sure, but it really didn't set itself apart from any other Jazz album i have reviewed in the past. You can certainly tell there is some emotion into the songs, and after reading inside the Cd you can tell what they were thinking about each song individually and how they came up with the movement. A cool feature for sure, especially with an instrumental Jazz Record. Decent tracks were numbers 1, 3, and 7 on disk 1, and songs 1 and 6 on disk 2.
