Six trombones, a rhythm section combined with great spontaneity and creativity makes Jazzbonez one of the most unique Jazz ensembles playing today. Based out of Austin Texas, Jazzbones is committed to promoting the trombone and continuing the legacy of great jazz 'bone groups. The sounds of this disc can be described as the rich sounds of the New York Jazz scene meets the offbeat creativity found in the Crescent City. In addition to the out-front sound of the bones, Austin Kimble on Piano and Quinntin Smith on Vibraphone bring a richness to the sound that is not normally found in a trombone ensemble. This group has been together for eight years and proves once again that great things are always worth waiting for. Reviewed Bt: Gregg Saur
