Karen Savoca and her musical partner Pete Heitzman, along with T-Bone Wolk have teamed up to produce another pleasant folk gem. Their musicianship ranges from delicate to soulful and Karen’s voice is filled with tenderness and depth of spirit. The title cut, "In the Dirt" is funky and upbeat. The remainder of the songs are both thoughtful, pleasing and a testament to the groups country influences. The CD contains all original tunes with some great lyrics. My favorite songs are "Give Me A Kiss", "The Year" (especially the line; "in my dreams I’ve got lots to do") and the lively title cut, "In the Dirt." Special bonus: All the songs gently fade out at the end.
