English brothers Peter (The Futureheads) and David Brewis create prog-pop on their fourth Field Music release, Plumb. This is British indie rock; but the vocal harmonies, strings, horns, and fine production give it a pastoral feel. I’ve heard the band compared to XTC. I really only see the comparison on the last track, “A New Thing”. (Not only does it sound like XTC, but the vocals sound just like Andy Partridge!) Rebecca RuthFrench Horn Rebellion
