From pop to electronica and English to French lyrics, Simon has experienced wide success in Europe and with this release sets her sights on the United States. Her background is avant, classical, jazz, string arrangements and soundtrack composition. The Flower Book is basically a compilation of the best of her first three European releases. As can be assumed, the album is not the most cohesive but has a variety of tempos and styles good for mixing it up track-by-track on the radio. The Stooges cover (2) reminds me of the Breeders or maybe Magnapop. Other sounds smell like Bjork, Kate Bush, and Joanna Newsom. –PeteFlowers De Moon
