  For its second release, People Get Ready leaves behind its previous global pop sound. On Physiques, the Brooklyn quartet makes art-pop that weaves provoking sounds into easy-to-listen-to songs. Citing both TV on the Radio and David Byrne as influences, the band makes music that is at times dancey and at other times pretty and arresting. I was actually blown away by the first four tracks here, before it took a bit more poppy turn on fifth track, "Jealousy".  Thanks to producer, Greg Saunier (Deerhoof), Physiques has a nice ebb and flow that I quite enjoyed.  Rebecca Ruth
