Inspired by Louisiana blues artist, Buddy Flett's near-fatal bout with encephalitis, musicians from all over Louisiana (and Omar Coleman from Chicago) conspired to support the Northern Louisiana Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Foundation with this compilation album. Indeed, funds raised from the sale of "Louisiana Swamp Stomp" go to support the NLBSCIF. This album includes contributions from Buddy Flett, himself, performing his "Livin' Ain't Easy" and also contributing "First You Cry" for Percy Sledge to perform. Other notable songs included are Sonny Landreth's instrumental, "Swamp Stomp" and Omar Coleman performing "Mojo Hand". Regional favorite, Carol Fran, who dealt with her own neurological issues having suffered a stroke in 2007, offers "I Needs to be Be'd With" and the zydeco piece "Tou' Les Jours C'est Pas La Meme". This is a worthy collection of bayou blues. Rebecca RuthBLIND BOYS OF ALABAMA
