Mariposa, aka Stephanie Naifeh, is a classically trained opera singer who once ran away to join the circus ... and she took her band, the Underthings, with her. She's now a trapeze artist/solo artist, and her impressive vocal range caught the attention of Danny Elfman, who included her in the music scores for "Men and Black," "Spiderman" and "Sleepy Hollow." In addition to arias, Naifeh also has a distinct flair for world beat and cabaret. The album's first track, "Such A Love," sounds like an unreleased track from "Moulin Rouge." Track 2 is her rendition of "Rock Me Amadeus," complete with hip, European chic sounds you might hear while shopping at Zara or dancing at the local discotheque. Then there are songs like track 5, "Ramo Ramo," that embrace Latin dance music. For the album’s final track she chose Neil Young's "Love is a Rose," which doesn't really seem to fit with the rest of the album, though I doubt a woman with glitter in her hair spends much time worrying about fitting in with the crowd. – Sara Cosgrove
