After the Wrecking Ships

2004-07-19

27-year-old Georgia native and Harvard grad David Berkeley recently got a boost from ASCAP, the American Society of Composers Authors and Publishers, when they awarded him the Johnny Mercer award for up-and-coming songwriters. The award caps the steady progress that has come with the release of his second independent disc, After the Wrecking Ships.

Berkeley’s an earnest storyteller, leaning toward the vocal style of James Taylor, Harry Chapin and Cat Stevens. Check him out.
