This five-song collection by G.R.'s Celtic-rock band, Craic Wisely, is a great set of Irish-American tunes. In fact, the opener, "Pride (Irish Family)," has "What does it really mean to be Irish-American?" as its theme in a rollicking song that could become an anthem. "Raise a Glass" and "All the Hard Days are Gone" are the other rockers; "Cobblestone Road" and "The Town of You and Me" are ballads. Each song boasts solid song-writing and musicianship, even taking into consideration the number of uses of the word "whiskey" throughout. I hope the band keeps this level of quality up and stretches it into another full release. But perhaps more local bands could learn from CW's decision to only record the best material.
