SERGIO MENDES

Encanto

2008-05-15

This is Sergio’s follow up to this highly acclaimed album, Timeless, in which he also collaborates with many different artists. He gives this album a more global feel by bringing in international artists like Zap Mama, Japanese pop-group Dreams Come True, and even some American stars like Natalie Cole and Fergie from the Black Eyed Peas who butchers a version of Burt Bacharach’s “The Look Of Love.” All in all, Sergio stays true to the Brazilian sound and what you get here are addictive melodies and sexy percussive beats that always stay nice on the ears. Much of the producing credit going to will.i.am who also guests on the album. Reviewed By: LaRae WYCE Programmer
