These are not the chords you are looking for, and first impressions can be deceiving. Richard Oppenheim's alto sax is joined by wife Katchie Cartwright on piccolo, daughter Eleonore Oppenheim on bass, and three more fine performers. The structure is familiar bop, along with a bit of latin, but the chord and key choices favor the minor in a major world. Where many players would choose sweet, Oppenheim takes the road less chosen with sour. -Gerald Etkind
