Madeleine Peyroux

Careless Love

2004-09-22

In 1996, 22-year-old American-born Parisian Madeleine Peyroux broke through to American audiences with Dreamland, a set of jazz standards that had fans and critics hailing her the second-coming of Billie Holiday. Before long, Peyroux was participating in high-profile tours with Sarah McLachlan, Cesaria Evora and the Lillith Fair.

Now 30 years old, Madeleine has returned with her second disc. The new release features songs from a diverse mix of artists that include Hank Williams, Elliott Smith, W.C. Handy, Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan.
